Privilege vs license
Counseling Compact CE still follows your home state
A privilege is not a second LPC. As of July 30, 2026 the compact is live in Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Ohio. Enacted is not operational.
Privilege
Lets an independently licensed counselor practice in another live compact state. Associate licenses do not qualify. CE is not a second cycle — it follows the home-state license.
Full license
Any extra LPC, LPCC, or LMHC you still renew keeps its own hours, ethics, and deadline. Track it as its own board, not as a compact badge.

Confirm both states are live on counselingcompact.gov before you drop a full license. Keep logging CE for every license you still hold.
