| Requirement | Hours | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 30 Contact Hours, Including 8 Pharmacology Hours | ≥ 30 | Indiana's APRN license is prescriptive authority rather than a standalone license to practice as a nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, or CRNA. Advanced practice nurses with prescriptive authority must complete 30 contact hours of continuing education each renewal period, including at least 8 pharmacology hours. Newly issued prescriptive authority has prorated first-cycle requirements: no CE if held less than 12 months before expiration, or 15 contact hours including 4 pharmacology hours if held at least 12 but less than 24 months. |
| Maintain Current RN or Compact RN License | — | Indiana APRN Prescriptive Authority requires an active Indiana RN license; APRN - Compact RN requires an active multistate compact RN license from the nurse's home state. The prerequisite RN license must be renewed or reinstated before APRN renewal can be completed. |
| Active Collaborating Practitioner Agreement | — | To maintain Active APRN Prescriptive Authority status in Indiana, at least one active agreement must be on file with an actively licensed practitioner. Without a current collaborative agreement, the APRN license may renew as Current/Not Practicing if other renewal requirements are met. |
Looking up the rule is step one. Continuing Education Tracking App stores certificates, allocates category hours, and exports proof when you renew.
