Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an empirically-supported psychotherapy model for treating traumatized children and adolescents. The effectiveness of this approach is enhanced by integrating creative, developmentally appropriate interventions so that children will engage in treatment. This two-day webinar will provide an overview of TF-CBT and will present creative play therapy interventions for the 8 components of TF-CBT: Psychoeducation, Relaxation, affective modulation, cognitive processing, trauma narrative, in vivo mastery, conjoint child- parent sessions, and enhancing safety. Therapeutic games, art, stories, and other innovative activities will be presented for use with traumatized children aged 4-16. Strategies for working with hard-to-engage children and parents will also be outlined. Through case examples, activity demonstrations, experiential exercises, and videos of actual client sessions, this training will combine theoretical material with hands- on therapeutic interventions. You will come away with a solid understanding of TF-CBT, and many new and innovative play therapy techniques for treating traumatized children and adolescents.

Description: This is an introductory workshop on the treatment of sexual abuse. This workshop will provide participants with an overview of sexual trauma, exploring what trauma is, its impact on individuals, and the recovery/treatment process. This course will allow participants to assess for sexual trauma in their own clinical experiences when working with children, adolescents and adults. Additionally, participants will obtain an understanding of the impact of sexual trauma differentiated by type of abuse, will receive an overview of trauma treatment models, and will learn to work compassionately and effectively with trauma survivors through the recovery/treatment process. This course will also address the unique need for clinician self-care when working with the distinctive challenges posed by a trauma population. Learning Objectives: Explain how to conduct a proper assessment of individuals with sexual trauma histories. Describe symptom presentations common in children, adolescents, and adults who have sexual trauma histories. Explain the differences in symptom presentation based upon type of trauma (i.e. single event versus prolonged). Describe most common trauma treatment models, and be able to choose the most efficacious treatment approach. List the key components of a contextual treatment approach ad explain how to implement. Privilege vs license
The Social Work Compact is not a license you can use yet
As of August 2026 the Social Work Licensure Compact is enacted in about 35 states and is not issuing multistate licenses. If you practice in more than one state, you still need a full license in each one — and CE for each board.
Privilege vs full license
When the compact eventually goes live, a home-state multistate authorization is designed to cover other member states. Until then, endorsement or a second full LCSW/LMSW is the path that actually works.
What CE still means
Every full license you hold still has its own hours, ethics, cultural competency, and cycle. Do not stop tracking a second state because the compact passed. Compact CE, once live, is expected to follow the home-state license only.
Enacted is not operational
A state can be a compact member on paper while the data system and applications are still being built. The commission has pointed to a 2027-era data system, not a 2026 privilege you can print.
Keep the licenses you currently renew
If you already hold FL + GA, or six LCSWs, keep logging CE against each board. The compact does not retire those obligations this year.

Can I practice in another state on the Social Work Compact today?
No. As of August 2026 the compact is not issuing multistate licenses. You still need a license (or another legal pathway) in the state where the client is located.
Do I still need CE in every state where I hold an LCSW?
Yes, for every full license you keep. Compact CE would follow the home-state license only after privileges exist. Until then, each board’s hours still apply.
